More than 3000 guns have been handed in to police in a state-wide firearms amnesty. Cootamundra residents handed in more illegal weapons than any other police district. NSW police said 3299 firearms were handed in during the amnesty which runs until May 31. Cootamundra police collected 200 guns from a population of about 7000.
