The ACT Government says 66 unregistered or unlicensed guns have been handed in during the first half of a three month amnesty period. The amnesty is calling on ACT gun owners without permits will be able to surrender their firearms to police without penalties. Nine of the weapons handed in are prohibited firearms, including a semi-automatic rifle and a semi-automatic shotgun.
