Arkansas Senate Shoots Down Gun Lobby Push to Allow Guns in Church

A proposal to allow concealed-handgun permit holders to take their weapons into church failed in an Arkansas Senate committee Wednesday after questions emerged about the burden placed on churches that don't want to allow guns.
Afterward, Rep. Beverly Pyle, R-Cedarville, promised to continue the push for her House Bill 1237. The legislation passed in the House earlier this month.
