Canadian MP, Long Gun Registry Opponent Takes Aim with Private Bill

REGINA — Saskatchewan Conservative MP Garry Breitkreuz is taking aim at the long-gun registry with a private member's bill.
The Yorkton-Melville MP says his recently proposed legislation would scrap the controversial registry and also streamline some requirements around licensing.
"I introduced this because for the last 14 years I have been following the firearms registry issue and have seen it as a colossal waste of money," said Breitkreuz.
