New Canadian MP Boosts Number Aiming to Scrap Long Gun Registry

THUNDER BAY, Ontario — A New Democrat member of Parliament is taking aim at Canada's long-gun registration program.
Northwestern Ontario MP John Rafferty wants the program scrapped. He says he intends to introduce a private member's bill to that end when the House of Commons resumes sitting.
Rafferty says the money that goes to the program now would be better spent on police enforcement initiatives.
