The fate of a convicted felon's right to possess a firearm may hang on a technicality. Wade L. Willis, a convicted felon, has challenged the state statute that prohibits him from possessing a firearm. Willis claims the law is unconstitutional because the Utah Constitution only allows the Legislature to regulate the use of firearms, not a person's right to own one.
