Licensed Quebec Gun Owner Killed Police Officer, Acquitted: No Appeal

The Crown has decided not to appeal the jury verdict that acquitted Brossard resident Basil Parasiris of first-degree murder in the shooting death of Laval police officer Daniel Tessier.
The branch of the provincial Justice Department that handles prosecutions had until Monday to decide whether to appeal the verdict, delivered at a trial in Longueuil on June 13.
