A pub landlord has been jailed for three years for keeping a sawn-off shotgun by his Carlisle bedside. Armed police swooped on Michael Charlton's home in Richmond Green, following a tip-off in March. He told officers he needed the weapon to defend himself after a masked gang had raided his house in 2002.
