LOUISVILLE — Using Kentucky as a stage, a string of high-profile speakers at the National Rifle Association's 137th annual meeting painted the 2008 presidential race as a showdown over the right to bear arms.
But the fall election also could prove to be a key test of the NRA's political muscle.
