JACKSON, Tennessee — A former Tennessee sheriff was sentenced today to 13 months in prison for conspiring to make bogus purchases for his department from a Kentucky gun store. David L. Bumpus, a former sheriff of Henry County, also was ordered to make restitution totaling $71,000. Bumpus pleaded guilty in May to conspiring to commit mail fraud.
