The deployment of Ugandan troops in Somalia is a good strategy to check the smuggling of guns into Karamoja, according to Dickson Olwa of the National Focal Point.
During a media dialogue on small arms and light weapons at the Hotel Equatorial in Kampala on Thursday, he said: "The Uganda People's Defence Forces' participation in Somalia is in the right direction, we need to tackle the source of the small weapons into Karamoja."
