Lack of Evidence Frees 10 PNG Soldiers Accused in Theft of 6 Assault Rifles

A lack of evidence has prompted the National Court to acquit 10 Papua New Guinea Defence Force soldiers charged with the alleged stealing of high-powered weapons and ammunition.
The soldiers acquitted were Nicholas Haiyufa, Gibson Nakia, Philip Foieke, Peter Umba, John Suri, Benjamin Philip, Henry Kemo Kurina, Timon Soka Otango, Jacob Tinol, and Terry Gaso.
