OTTAWA and MONTREAL — Quebec Premier Jean Charest pledged a stiff fight yesterday against Prime Minister Stephen Harper's plans to scrap the country's long-gun registry as his emotionally raw province came to grips with Wednesday's murderous rampage at Dawson College.
