A bill which relaxes some aspects of South Africa's tough gun control laws was approved by the National Assembly on Tuesday, despite a Democratic Alliance claim that it was another piece of "draconian" legislation. The Firearms Control Amendment Bill, which still has to go through the National Council of Provinces, extends the validity of certain types of firearm licence. It does away with automatic disqualification to own a gun when an admission of guilt fine is paid... (GunPolicy.org)
