CHARLESTON — A state lawmaker won't be prosecuted for firing a gun while arguing with two utility workers in his parents' backyard. Rep. Wallace Scarborough, R-Charleston, was arrested July 15 by Charleston police after firing a single round from a 9 mm pistol. At the time, two S.C. Electric & Gas linemen were inspecting storm damage in the backyard of Scarborough's parents' home in West Ashley. Scarborough said he thought the men might be robbers. The round fired,...
