Four members of a family were found shot dead in a house in Newcastle in north-east England after a man, who claimed to be carrying a home-made nail bomb, surrendered to police. The man walked into a police station on Sunday morning and handed over a bag containing a pump-action shotgun, a silencer and ammunition, said Assistant Chief Constable Keith Mathieson of Northumbria police.
