KAMPALA — The UPDF has started disposing of an estimated 57,000 guns deemed obsolete and unserviceable. The Army Spokesman, Maj. Felix Kulayigye, said the United Nations Development Programme is funding the month-long exercise.
Small arms demobilisation experts from the UN and Safe Africa, a South African NGO, are assisting UPDF's Inspectorate of Military Equipment in carrying out the exercise.
