Fugitive Survivalist Shot as SWAT Team Enters Hideout

Park County SWAT team members cornered and shot an armed survivalist late Saturday who escaped into the woods Friday afternoon following a heated dispute about a late fee levied by the county.
Roger Talbert, 48, eluded police until 7:15 p.m. Saturday, when SWAT team members found him in a Placer Valley subdivision home. When the officers entered the home, Talbert charged and tried to wrestle away one officer's gun, authorities said.
