State House Majority Leader Terry Spence says he wants to send a clear message to gun-toting criminals by increasing the current three-year minimum mandatory sentences for weapons violations. He proposes Draconian legislation with sentences from 15 years for displaying a gun during a crime to life imprisonment without parole for wounding someone.
