A boy fired an air rifle at a friend believing it would sting or stun him. Instead, the pellet lodged in Matthew Sheffield's brain and he died the following day. The boys, both 14, were among a group of friends aiming at targets with the .22 air rifle at the home of the boy who fired the gun, Teeside Crown Court was told.
