South Australia's armed robbery rate has dropped nearly 40 per cent in 12 months. Figures reveal that from October last year to October this year 173 armed robberies were carried out — 114 fewer than in the previous corresponding period. Robberies in which a firearm was used were cut by half — from 57 to 29 — while robberies in which other weapons were used fell from 230 to 144.
