Reactions of some states to gun control after Columbine:
- Colorado: Two bills backed by the National Rifle Association were pulled by their Republican sponsors; a third that would prohibit local communities from suing the gun industry was vetoed by Gov. Bill Owens.
- Arizona: Gov. Jane Hull vetoed an NRA-endorsed bill that would have prohibited localities from suing the gun industry and enacting ordinances to prevent gun violence.
