Condiciones para los usuarios autorizados

Articulo 55 - Se exigirán como condiciones generales a los legítimos usuarios comprendidos por los incisos 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10 y 12 del artículo 53 de la presente reglamentación [Articulo 14 de Ley de Armas No. 20.429 de 1973]:

1) Ser mayor de 21 años.
2) No presentar anormalidades psíquicas o físicas que incapaciten al peticionante para la tenencia de armas de fuego. Cuando existieren razones fundadas, podrá exigirse la presentación de certificado médico.
3) Acreditar ante la dependencia policial con jurisdicción en el domicilio del interesado, identidad, domicilio real y medios de vida lícitos.

Esta emitirá certificación al respecto así como de la no existencia de antecedentes policiales o penales e imprimirá un juego de fichas dactiloscópicas con destino al Registro Nacional de Armas.

Requirements for Authorised Users

Article 55 - The following conditions are to be met by legitimate users referred to in subsections 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 12 of Article 53 of this regulation [Article 14 of the Firearms Act No. 20.429 of 1973]:

1) Be over 21 years old.
2) Not present mental or physical abnormalities that hinder the applicant's ability to possess firearms. Should reasons be found, the submission of a medical certificate may be required.
3) Prove to the police with jurisdiction over the applicant's residence, his address, residence, and licit livelihood.

A certificate attesting to the absence of police or criminal records shall be issued and a set of fingerprint records shall be printed. Both shall be forwarded to the National Firearm Registry.
