Se entiende por tenencia de armas su posesión, dentro del bien inmueble registrado en el correspondiente permiso, del arma y sus municiones para defensa personal. La tenencia sólo autoriza el uso de las armas dentro del inmueble. al titular del permiso vigente y a quienes siendo sus moradores permanentes o transitorios asuman dicha defensa.

Las armas deportivas solamente serán utilizadas en actividades de tiro y caza, con las limitaciones establecidas en la ley y el reglamento, en particular las normas de protección y conservación de los recursos naturales.

Article 16. Ownership of Firearms and Ammunition

Ownership of firearms refers to the possession, within the premises of the property registered in the corresponding permit, of the firearm and its ammunition for personal defence. The ownership only authorises use of the firearm within the property of the bearer of the valid permit and those who, being temporary or permanent residents, take up this defence role.

Sport firearms may only be used during shooting and hunting activities, in accordance with limitations established in the Act and the regulation, in particular provisions on the protection and conservation of natural resources.
