Artículo 134. Registro de Armas de Fuego

Para los efectos indicados en el Art. 73 de la Ley, el registro de las armas de fuego asignadas a la Policía Nacional Civil y a la Academia Nacional de Seguridad Pública, constituirá parte integrante del registro de armas de fuego del Ministerio de la Defensa Nacional.

En tal sentido, dicha institución deberán llevar un riguroso control sobre las armas que registren, debiendo actualizar la base de datos por lo menos cada tres meses y realizar las correspondientes pruebas balísticas.

Los informes sobre los citados registros y sus actualizaciones deberán remitirse al Ministerio de la Defensa Nacional, pudiéndose hacer uso para ello del sistema de informática.

Asimismo, el Estado Mayor Conjunto de la Fuerza Armada deberá llevar un registro similar, con sus respectivas pruebas balísticas, de las pistolas, carabina, fusiles y ametralladoras de dotación militar, remitiendo los informes correspondientes al Ministerio de la Defensa Nacional.

Article 134. Register of Firearms

Under Article 73 of the Act the register of firearms, assigned to the Civil National Police and the National Academy of Public Security, constitutes an integral part of the registry of firearms of the Ministry of National Defence.

In that regard, such institution shall carry out a rigorous control of the registered firearms, must update the database at least every three months and must carry out relevant ballistic tests.

Reports on the said registrations and their updates shall be submitted to the Ministry of National Defence, and this can be done by computerized means.

Likewise, the Joint Command of the Armed Forces shall compile a similar register, with its respective ballistic tests, of the pistols, carbines, rifles and machine guns for military purposes, issuing the corresponding reports to the Ministry of National Defence.
