Artículo 45. Municiones Prohibidas

Para los efectos indicados en el Art. 8 de la Ley, la municiones prohibidas se define de la siguiente manera:

a. Perforante: Aquélla diseñada para atravesar metales, blindajes y chalecos a prueba de balas, cuyo interior está compuesto por un núcleo diferente al plomo, tal como acero, tungsten o mercurio.

b. Incendiaria: Aquéllas en cuyo interior existe una recámara donde se aloja material inflamable, tal como el fósforo u otro similar.

c. Explosiva: Puede ser prefragmentada o detonante:
1. Prefragmentada: Aquélla cuya ojiva colapsa al impacto, lanzando fragmentos o perdigones.
2. Detonantes: Aquélla cuya ojiva consta de un fulminante o una carga de material explosive que produce la fragmentación a travéz de una explosión.

Article 45. Prohibited Ammunition

Under Article 8 of the Act, prohibited ammunition is defined as follows:

a. Armour-piercing: ammunition designed to penetrate metal, armour and bullet proof vests, whose inside is made of a core different to lead, such as steel, tungsten or mercury.

b. Incendiary: bullets filled with inflammable material, such as phosphorus or similar.

c. Exploding: can be either pre-fragmented or explosive:
1. Pre-fragmented: those whose cartridges are designed to fragment on impact, by spreading fragments or pellets;
2. Exploding: ammunition whose bullets are filled with an explosive charge that produces fragmentation through an explosion.
