Los Ciudadanos Salvadoreños y residentes podrán traer en su equipaje al ingresar al país hasta dos armas de fuego y doscientas municiones por año, así como accesorios adquiridos legalmente en el extranjero y transportados de acuerdo a las regulaciones internacionales de seguridad, debiendo presentar a la autoridad la licencia respectiva, el documento que ampare su adquisición legal…

En caso de las armas de fuego mencionadas en el inciso anterior, el interesado deberá solicitar previo a la importación; la autorización provisional por parte del Ministerio de la Defensa Nacional la que se le extenderá para que pueda ingresarlas al país.

Salvadoran citizens and residents may bring into the country up to two firearms and two hundred rounds of ammunition each year, as well as accessories lawfully acquired abroad and brought into the country in accordance with international regulations, and provided that they submit to the authorities the corresponding licence, the document testifying to their legal purchase…

With respect to firearms mentioned in the previous paragraph, the applicant must request, before importation, a provisional authorisation issued by the Ministry of National Defence, granted to allow the entry of firearms into the country.
