Artículo 13. Importaciones permitidas

Solo se permite la importación con carácter definitivo de aquellas armas, sus accesorios y municiones, que sean adquiridas para los fines siguientes:
a) Caza o tiro deportivo;
b) Protección ante el peligro aviario y afectaciones aviarias;
e) Conservación y colección por su valor histórico o artístico;
d) Prestación de Servicios de Seguridad y Protección de Bienes y Personas;
e) Defensa personal;
f) Uso veterinario;
g) Actividades científicas.
Solo se permite la importación con carácter temporal de armas, sus accesorios y
municiones por razón de su utilización con los fines siguientes:
a) Caza o tiro deportivo;
b) Protección a personalidades invitadas por el Partido, Estado, Gobierno y por las Organizaciones Políticas, Sociales y de Masas;
e) Actividades fílmicas, televisivas, teatrales y otras de carácter artístico;
d) Obtención de Licencia de Armas de Fuego (para los residentes temporales);
e) Exhibición;
f) Uso veterinario;
g) Actividades científicas.
Después de cumplidos los fines para los que se autorizó la importación temporal
de las armas sus accesorios y municiones a la que se refiere el párrafo anterior, se procede a la exportación de estas.

Decree-Law No. 262 of 2008, on Arms and Ammunition

Article 13. Permitted Imports

Permanent importation can only be permitted for arms, accessories and ammunition that are purchased for the following purposes:
a) Hunting or shooting for sporting purposes;
b) Protection against damage caused by birds;
c) Preservation and collection for historical or artistic value;
d) Security services, and protection of goods and persons;
e) Personal defence;
f) Veterinary use;
g) Scientific activities;
Temporary importation can only be permitted for arms, accessories and ammunition that are purchased for the following purposes:
a) Hunting or shooting for sporting purposes;
b) Protection of individuals who have been invited by the party, state, government or by political and social organisations;
c) Film, TV, theatre and other artistic activities;
d) Obtaining a firearms licence for temporary residents;
e) Exhibition;
f) Veterinary use;
g) Scientific activities.
Only after having complied with the purposes for which the temporary import of the arms, accessories and ammunition to which the previous paragraph refers was granted will the export of these be allowed.
