El Ministerio del Interior es competente conforme al Decreto Legislativo 1135, Ley de Organización y Funciones del Ministerio del Interior. La SUCAMEC es competente conforme al Decreto Legislativo 1127, Decreto Legislativo que crea la Superintendencia Nacional de Control de Servicios de Seguridad, Armas, Municiones y Explosivos de Uso Civil - SUCAMEC.

The Interior Ministry is enabled under the Legislative Decree 1135, the Act on the Organisation and Functions of the Interior Ministry. SUCAMEC is enabled under the Legislative Decree 1127, the Legislative Decree that creates the National Authority for the Control of Security Services, Firearms, Ammunition and Explosives for Civilian Use – SUCAMEC.
