CUARTA. Armas y Municiones de Uso Militar y Policial

Para efectos de la presente Ley se considera como arma y municiones de uso militar toda arma que por sus características haya sido diseñada para el uso específico de fuerzas militares y/o policiales cuyo calibre sea denominado exactamente como: 5.56x45mm, 7.62x51mm, 7.62x39mm, 12.7x99mm (50BMG), 338 Lapua Magnum (8.58x71mm) y/o toda arma que tenga un selector de tiro que le permita que la cadencia de tiro sea automática (ráfaga) y/o toda munición que incluya proyectiles con núcleo de acero, perforantes de blindaje, trazadoras, incendiarias o explosivas.

FOURTH. Arms and Ammunition for Military and Police Use

For the purpose of the present Act, arms and ammunition for military use are considered to be all arms whose characteristics have been designed for the specific use of the military and/or police forces, with an exact calibre: 5.56x45mm, 7.62x51mm, 7.62x39mm, 12.7x99mm (50BMG), 338 Lapua Magnum (8.58x71mm) and/or all other arms with a firing switch that allows them to have automatic (burst) shooting power and/or all ammunition that includes bullets with a steel core, armour-piercing, tracing, inflammable or explosives.
