Artículo 43. Introducción de Armas de Fuego en el País

Los ecuatorianos o extranjeros que al ingresar al país desearen internar en forma permanente una arma de fuego de las permitidas por este Reglamento, deberán tramitar su solicitud al Ministro de Defensa Nacional por intermedio de las Misiones Diplomáticas o Consulares acreditadas por el Ecuador, acompañando la correspondiente factura o título de propiedad de la misma.

El arma ingresada al país deberá ser registrada en la Dirección de Logística del C.C. de las FF.AA. y el interesado realizará los trámites de obtención del permiso para portarla.

Article 43. Introduction of Firearms into the Country

Ecuadorians or foreigners wishing, when entering the country, to permanently introduce a firearm of a type permitted by this Regulation, must send a request to the Ministry of National Defence through consulates or diplomatic missions recognised by Ecuador, and attach the relevant receipt or ownership certificate of the firearm.

The firearm entering the country must be registered in the Logistics Direction of the Joint Command of the Armed Forces, and the applicant must carry out the procedures to obtain a licence to carry firearms.
