Artículo 16. Importación de Armas con Fines No Comerciales

Las entidades deportivas, clubes de tiro y caza, así como las personas naturales y jurídicas, para poder importar, sin intermediarios, armas de fuego, municiones, explosivos y accesorios de uso civil, con fines no comerciales, deberán:

a) Presentar la solicitud de importación correspondiente, según lo establecido en el literal c) del artículo 13; y,

b) Registrar en el IV Departamento del Estado Mayor del Comando Conjunto, las armas y municiones, motivo de la importación y alcanzar el correspondiente permiso.

Article 16. Import of Firearms for Non-Commercial Purposes

In order to import firearms, ammunition, explosives and accessories for civil use, without commercial purposes and without intermediaries, sports associations, shooting and hunting clubs, as well as natural and legal persons must:

a) Submit the import request, in accordance with paragraph c) of Article 13; and

b) Register the firearms and ammunition for which the importation was requested at the IV Department of the Joint Command's Staff, and obtain the corresponding permit.
