Artículo 3. Corresponde a la Secretaría de Estado en el Despacho de Seguridad, la organización del Seguridad de Registro de Armas, en el cual estarán depositadas las evidencias balísticas de todas las armas que circulen en el país, siendo responsabilidad de la Dirección General de Investigación Nacional, al manejo de dicho registro, correspondiendo a la Dirección General de la Policía Preventiva, lo relativo a la tenencia y Portación.

Firearm Registration

Article 3. The Office of the Secretariat of Security [National Police] are in charge of the safety of the National Register of Firearms, in which the ballistic evidence of all weapons in circulation in the country shall be recorded. The General Directorate of National Research shall be responsible for managing the register. The General Directorate of the Preventive Police shall be responsible for monitoring the possession and carrying of firearms.
