14. Offence of possession of firearm without licence

Subject to section 15, any person who has in his possession any firearm other than an airgun, or ammunition and does not hold

(a) a firearms and ammunition dealer's licence;

(b) a firearms and ammunition import licence; or

(c) a firearm licence issued under section 13,

authorizing such possession commits an offence and is liable on conviction to imprisonment for a term not exceeding three months or to a fine not exceeding £500 or to both such imprisonment and fine.
