Licences and Fees

9. (1) Subject to subsection (2), the licences which may be issued under this Ordinance are:

(a) a licence to keep firearms which shall be in Form B and shall entitle the holder to keep the firearms and ammunition described therein;

(b) a licence to deal in firearms and ammunition which shall be in Form C and shall entitle the holder to sell or to deal in firearms and ammunition and to trade generally as a gunsmith;1

(c) a licence to keep and carry in public places firearms which shall be in Form B.

(2) No license may be issued to a person who has served a sentence of imprisonment of 12 months or more at any time before the expiration of a period of five years from the date of that person's release…

(4) Licences shall be issued by the Commissioner of Police or by any other person authorised in writing by the Governor.

(5) The Commissioner of Police may with the approval of the Governor in Cabinet impose any conditions which he deems to be necessary on a licence at the time it is granted and he may, subsequent to the issue thereof, also amend or alter in any manner any particulars or conditions endorsed on such licence.
