These statistics are drawn from the CMI system, which is a "live" system and are therefore subject to change. Note also that during 1994 and 1995 the amalgamation process was under way and 10 former policing agencies in South Africa (from the TBVC states, the self-governing homelands and the old SAP) were amalgamated. They did not all use the same crime code list. This only occurred in 1996.
