Artículo 38. (Ciudadanos Extranjeros)

I. Las ciudadanas o los ciudadanos extranjeros que ingresen al territorio del Estado en calidad de turista, por ningún motivo obtendrán licencia para la tenencia, porte o portación de armas de fuego.

II. Las ciudadanas o los ciudadanos extranjeros están prohibidos de ingresar al territorio nacional portando armas de fuego.

III. Quedan exentos de las disposiciones anteriores, las ciudadanas y los ciudadanos extranjeros que ingresen al territorio boliviano como parte de una misión diplomática, organismos internacionales, delegación oficial, delegación de tiro deportivo y seguridad personal de representantes de Estado o personalidades políticas, debidamente acreditados.

Article 38. (Foreign Nationals)

I. National or foreign citizens entering the territory of the State of Bolivia as a tourist, are by no means able to obtain a license for possessing or carrying firearms.

II. National or foreign citizens are forbidden to enter the country carrying firearms.

III. Exempted from the above provisions are those national and foreign citizens who enter Bolivia as part of a diplomatic mission, international organisation, official delegations, delegation for shooting sports associations and individual private security members who represent the State, or individual politicians. These individuals have to be duly accredited.
