Transactions Involving Firearms

Section 28

(1) A person who sells or transfers any firearm or ammunition to which regulation 4 applies to another person in the Islands shall, unless that other person shows that he or she is, by virtue of these Regulations, entitled to acquire the firearm or ammunition without holding a certificate, comply with any conditions contained in the certificate produced and shall within seven days of the transaction cause notice in writing to be given to the Police Officer.

(2) A notice given pursuant to sub-regulation (1) shall contain a description of the firearm (with the identification number where appropriate) and shall state the nature of the transaction and the name and address of the purchaser or transferee.

(3) Any person to whom the provisions of this regulation apply who fails to comply therewith shall be guilty of an offence.
