5. Prohibition or Restriction of Certain Firearms and Ammunition

(1) The Minister may, by notice in the National Gazette --
(a) prohibit or restrict; or
(b) declare an area to be a prohibited area in respect of,
the possession or use of any firearms or type of firearm, or of any ammunition or type of ammunition.

(2) A person who owns, uses, carries or possesses a firearm or ammunition in a prohibited area or contrary to a notice under this section is guilty of an offence.
Penalty: A fine not exceeding K2,000.00 or imprisonment for a term not exceeding 12 months.
