2. Interpretation

In this Act…

"appropriate authority" means

(a) for the purpose of the granting, renewal or revocation of a licence or permit, the [Board];
(b) for the purpose of the granting or revocation of a transhipment permit, the Comptroller of Customs and Excise;…

"firearm dealer" means a person who deals in, sells, makes or repairs firearms or sells ammunition;…

"Firearm User's Licence" means [a license authorising the holder to purchase, acquire, own possess, carry, or use firearm or ammunition]…

"prohibited weapon" means

(a) any automatic firearm;
(b) any grenade, bomb or other similar missile;…

"restricted ammunition" means any ammunition designed or adapted to contain any noxious liquid, gas or other substance;…

"restricted weapon" means any weapon designed or adapted for the discharge of noxious liquid, gas or other substance;…

"transfer" includes to let or hire, give, lend or part with possession.
