Desarme, Desmovilización y Reintegración

El Gobierno Dominicano se encuentra trabajando en conjunto con la sociedad civil a efectos que desde la creación del Programa de Control de Armas de Fuego, uno de los principales ejes es la erradicación de armas ilegales, ilegibles y de uso irregular, para disminuir la cantidad de armas de fuego en manos de la población civil. De ahí que los operativos de recolección de armas de fuego sea una de las actividades prioritarias ejecutadas por esta Dirección.

Las Fuerzas Armadas, Policía Nacional y el Ministerio Público realizan operativos de recolección de armas de fuego en zonas focalizadas para evitar el tráfico ilícito de armas de fuego en manos de la población civil, éstos incluyen: el área fronteriza, puertos, aeropuertos, peajes y puntos de chequeos estratégicos.

Since the creation of the Control Program of Firearms, The Dominican government has been working together with civil society in order to implement one of the main priorities of the program, which has been the eradication of illegal weapons, the illegible and irregular use, and to reduce the amount of firearms held by civilians. Hence the operational collection of firearms is one of the main priorities implemented by the Directorate.

The Armed Forces, National Police and the Attorney General conducted operations for collection of firearms in targeted areas to prevent the smuggling of
firearms held by civilians, these include: the border area, ports, airports, toll roads and strategic checkpoints.
