Préambule
La Commission Nationale de lutte contre la Prolifération des Armes Légères, (CNLCPAL) du Benin a été créée par Décret N° 2000- 106 du 09 mars 2000 et installée officiellement le 14 février 2003. Elle a pour objectif essentiel de lutter contre le phénomène de prolifération des armes légères qui constitue l'un des facteurs d'insécurité pour les populations béninoises.
Directement liée à la Présidence de la République, elle a pour mission d'assister la Haute Autorité dans la conception et la mise en œuvre de la politique nationale en matière de lutte contre la prolifération et la circulation illicite des armes légères et de petit calibre dans le cadre de l'application du Moratoire de la CEDEAO, signé le 31 octobre 1998 par les Chefs d'Etat et de Gouvernement de la CEDEAO, et par la suite, de la Convention de la CEDEAO sur les armes légères et de petit calibre, signée le 14 juin 2006 par les pays membres de la CEDEAO.
La Commission Nationale de Lutte contre la Prolifération des Armes Légères œuvre au quotidien aux cotés des Forces de sécurité et de défense a créer un climat de paix et de sécurité pour le développement. Depuis sa mise en place. la CNLCPAL déploie des activités sur le terrain, qui ont permis de saisir un nombre non négligeable d'armes et de munitions et de renforcer la lutte contre l'insécurité, grâce aux efforts du Gouvernement béninois et a l'appui de la CEDEAO à travers I'ECOSAP.

Preamble
The National Commission to Fight the Proliferation of Small Arms (CNLCPAL) of Benin was created by Decree No. 2000-106 of 9 March 2000 and officially established on 14 February 2003. Its essential purpose is to fight the phenomenon of the proliferation of small arms as a factor of insecurity for the people of Benin.
Directly linked to the Presidency of the Republic, its mission is to assist the High Authority in the design and implementation of national policy in the fight against the proliferation and illicit circulation of small arms and light weapons, as part of the implementation of the ECOWAS Moratorium, signed on 31 October 1998 by the Heads of State and Governments of ECOWAS, and subsequently, of the ECOWAS Convention on small arms and light weapons signed by the member States of ECOWAS on 14 June 2006.
The National Commission to fight the Proliferation of Small Arms has been working daily since its inception, alongside the Security Forces and Defence, to create a climate of peace and security for development. CNLCPAL field operations allowed the seizure of a not insignificant number of weapons and ammunition, and strengthened the fight against insecurity through the efforts of the Government of Benin and the support of CEDEAO through ECOSAP.
