En vertu de la loi du 8 juin 2006, l'armement individuel des services de police ne peut être vendu qu'à des armuriers agréés exclusivement;

Cependant, la GPI 51 relative au traitement du matériel de police mis hors service formule des directives et recommandations concernant l'évacuation de ce matériel de police spécifique, à savoir:

- que seul l'armement individuel, et non collectif, peut être vendu, et uniquement à des armuriers agréés;
- qu'il est interdit de revendre directement ces armes aux membres du personnel des services de police;
- que toute arme usée doit être détruite;

Des armes peuvent cependant être préservées à des fins didactiques;

La destruction des armes est effectuée par le Banc d'Epreuves de Liège.

Collection and Disposal

According to the Law of 8 June 2006, Police sidearms and service weapons may only be sold to licensed gunsmiths;

However, concerning the treatment of decommissioned Police equipment, the GPI 51 has issued directives and recommendations concerning this issue:

- Only individual and non-collective armament may be sold, and only to licensed gunsmiths;
- It is prohibited to directly sell these weapons to members of the personnel of the Police Service;
- Any worn down weapons must be sold;

Some weapons may however be kept for educational purposes;

The destruction of weapons is carried out by the Proof House of Firearms of Liège.
