A-6. Managing and Safeguarding Stockpiles:

Concerning the management of stockpiles, Article 128 of Executive Order 98-96, amended and supplemented, requires, by a framework set by the decree of 15 September 1998, the reporting of weapons and ammunition of the first category owned by the public institutions and services. In addition, weapons and ammunition owned by individuals and legal entities are systematically recorded, tracked and controlled by the competent services of the State.

Controls are carried out regularly and unannounced throughout the year on stockpiles of small arms and light weapons owned by constitutional bodies and any other body entitled to possession.

Criteria for identifying surplus stocks of small arms and light weapons are linked to staffing requirements of constitutional bodies and other bodies entitled to possession.

Any surpluses recorded thanks to the statements above are immediately transferred to the body empowered by the State for this purpose, and destroyed by that same body according to the regulatory procedure in force in the Armed Forces.
