§ 59. Definition of Carriage of Weapons and Ammunition Across Customs Frontier

(1) The carriage of weapons and ammunition across the Customs frontier is defined in this Act as the import, export, transit, bringing in and taking out of weapons and ammunition.

(2) Weapons and ammunition shall be carried across the Customs frontier pursuant to the procedure established by this Act, the Customs Code and the Strategic Goods Act and legislation issued on the basis thereof.

(3) Pursuant to this Act, the carriage of weapons and ammunition across the Customs frontier shall be conducted solely on the basis of a single special permit granted by the Police Board.

(4) The procedure for the issue of a special permit, the list of weapons, essential components of firearms, accessories and ammunition, and the standard format for the permit shall be established by a regulation of the Minister of Internal Affairs.
