Article 34:

Toute personne convaincu d'avoir, contrairement aux dispositions du présent décret, importé, détenu, fabriqué, cédé, vendu en Mauritanie des armes prohibées ou leurs munitions, ainsi que des objets pouvant servir à leur fabrication, est punie d'une amende de 5.000 à 30.000 francs et d'un emprisonnement de 3 (trois) à un an, ou de l'une de ces deux peines seulement. La tentative d'importation est punie comme l'importation. En cas de récidive, la peine peut être portée au double.

Article 34:

Any individual convicted of having, contrary to the provisions of this decree, imported, possessed, manufactured, transferred, sold in Mauritania prohibited firearms or their ammunition, or objects that can be used for their manufacture, is punishable with a fine of 5,000 to 30,000 Francs and a prison term of one to three years, or only one of these two penalties. An attempt to import is punishable as with import. In case of a second offence, the penalty may be doubled.
