Pursuant to Article 5, para. 3, of the Weapons Act manufacture of firearms, which do not have a serial number, is prohibited.

There is no manufacturing of firearms in Iceland, but holders of manufacturing licences carry out repairs on firearms and mechanical construction of special components of firearms…

Weapons are not accepted for registration in Iceland unless they bear the manufacturer's unique serial number embedded in housing and/or the barrel.
