Le particulier qui désire importer ou acheter une arme de défense, doit adresser, au préalable, sous le couvert du Représentant de l'Etat dans le cercle de sa résidence ou dans le District de Bamako, une demande d'autorisation, au Ministre chargé de la Sécurité Intérieure…

Une fois l'autorisation d'importation ou d'achat obtenue, l'acquéreur doit se faire délivrer, sur présentation de l'arme et de sa facture d'achat, un permis de port d'arme, par le Ministre chargé de la Sécurité Intérieure, après acquittement de la taxe sur les armes, pour l'exercice en cours.

Les commerçants dûment agréés pourront, dans ce cas, servir seulement d'intermédiaire pour les commandes individuelles des bénéficiaires d'autorisation.

Article 16:

An individual who wishes to import or purchase a defensive firearm, shall submit, in advance, under the cover of State Representative of his/her place of residence or the District of Bamako, a request for authorisation to the Minister of Internal Security…

Once the authorisation to import or purchase is obtained, a permit to carry firearms shall be issued to the purchaser, upon presentation of the firearm and its invoice, by the Minister of Internal Security, after payment of tax on firearms of the exercise underway.

Dealers duly authorised may, in this case, only serve as an intermediary for the individual orders of authorised beneficiaries.
