Artículo 41. Solicitudes de Inscripción o Permiso

Toda solicitud de inscripción o permiso deberá presentarse en el Departamento o en las oficinas auxiliares que establezca el reglamento, con la firma del petente autenticada por un abogado si no la presenta personalmente. De presentarla él mismo, deberá identificarse con su cédula de identidad o, en el caso de extranjeros, con su cédula de residencia.

La solicitud deberá formularse por escrito, con dos fotografías del interesado tamaño pasaporte y, según corresponda, la factura de compra, la póliza de desalmacenaje o la carta-venta del arma. Además, se indicarán las calidades, la nacionalidad y el domicilio del solicitante y todos los datos necesarios para identificar plenamente las armas cuya inscripción se solicita.

Las personas físicas deberán aportar un dictamen extendido por un profesional competente, en los términos que establezca el reglamento, sobre la idoneidad mental del solicitante, al cual se le tomará la impresión de sus huellas dactilares …

Article 41. Registering a Firearm

Applications must be made at the Arms and Explosives Control Department. The application form must be signed by the applicant. If the applicant is not personally filing the application, the signature must be certified by a lawyer. If the applicant is the one submitting the application, he/she must show his identity card or permanent residency card if he/she is a foreigner.

It is necessary to attach to the written application form two photos of the applicant and either the gun shop invoice, the import Customs declaration or the bill of sale. Additionally, it is necessary to state the applicant's identification card number, nationality and address and the full description of the arms that will be registered

Individuals must provide a mental health test issued by a competent professional, in accordance to the guidelines established by the Regulations. The applicant will be fingerprinted by the Department.
