Artículo 21. Posesión y Uso de Armas Permitidas

Los habitantes de la República únicamente podrán poseer, portar y usar armas de las clasificadas en el artículo anterior,1 como permitidas según los requisitos señalados por ley.

Se permite la posesión de armas permitidas en el domicilio para la seguridad y defensa legítima de sus moradores, los cuales deberán tomar todas las medidas de seguridad indispensables para evitar accidentes.

Article 21. Possession and Use of Permitted Firearms

The people of Costa Rica may only possess, carry and use those firearms classified in the previous article1 as permitted, according to the requirements set forth by the law.

It is allowed to possess arms at home for the security and legitimate defense of its inhabitants, whom should take all necessary security measures to prevent accidents.
